Latvia’s 102nd Anniversary Celebration Concert “For the Land We Love”

Celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, on November 18 at 5:00 PM, a festive concert “For the Land We Love” will take place live from the Great Hall of the MCCAC “Mazā Ģilde”, featuring tenors Mihails Čuļpajevs, Andris Ludvigs, Juris Vizbulis, and an instrumental group – Ilze Ozoliņa (piano), Inita Āboliņa (accordion), and Mareks Auziņš (double bass). 

On the national holiday, the MCCAC “Mazā Ģilde” wishes to give every viewer a bright celebratory concert via live stream. The concert artists will perform pieces by Jānis Ivanovs, Alfrēds Kalniņš, Imants Kalniņš, Edgars Račevskis, Bruno Skulte, Alfrēds Vinters, Arvīds Žilinskis, and other Latvian composers, as well as folk songs. The concert program will be enriched with excerpts from poetry by Ojārs Vācietis and the essay “Remember Latvia” by Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš, read by Inita Malnača.

The concert “For the Land We Love” is organized by the MCCAC “Mazā Ģilde” with the support of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Riga City Council.
