Celebrating the twentieth anniversary year of the concert series, the Small Guild presents free jazz concerts for Riga residents and visitors during the summer months on Thursday afternoons. From 4 June until 27 August, every Thursday at 5:00 PM, the garden of KTMC “Mazā Ģilde” will host jazz performances by outstanding and highly acclaimed Latvian musicians. This summer, the heart of Old Riga will welcome performances by the “City Jazz Riga” Big Band led by Kārlis Vanags and Dāvis Jurka, “Jam Orchestra”, and the Toms Rudzinskis Quartet.
On 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 July, the “Jam Orchestra” will perform. The musicians will present energetic jazz/rock/blues-inspired music, with original compositions and arrangements by the band’s outstanding guitarist and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music lecturer, Andrejs Jevsjukovs. This summer’s “Jam Orchestra” line-up includes bassist Pēteris Liepiņš, percussionist Gundars Lintiņš, guitarist Āris Ozols, saxophonist Zintis Žvarts, and keyboardist Romāns Vendiņš.
Free admission.
The concert series “Jazz in Old Riga – at the Small Guild Garden” is organised by KTMC “Mazā Ģilde” with the support of Riga City Municipality and the State Culture Capital Foundation.
